Learning Graffiti Styles

If you have a special interest in graffiti but have not knowledge yet in this kind of hobby, here is a bit of help. There a many graffiti styles and the best one to learn for beginners is the simplest one like tagging. This will only require a single color and you only have to write your street name. However, tags are not simply written in the same manner as simple writing. It will require a bit of artistry in the design of each letter. Develop a style in which to write these letters and continually use it. One thing to remember in street tagging is to never write on someone else’s tag. This is the same as disrespecting another writer and will commonly lead to misunderstandings.

If you are now good with tagging, the next one to learn is the throw-up style of graffiti. This style of graffiti has a common design of bubble letters. It has a composition of about 2 or 3 colors. It has only a single layer of fill colors. This form of graffiti is created only on a short span of time in order to not catch the attention of others. In addition, it can also be done repeatedly and the designs of each letter is usually more complex than the ones used in tags.

The use of stencils can also be an option if you are just starting out on this hobby. By holding the stencil against a wall and spraying paint on it, you can get a clearer picture. Spraying on readymade stencil is very easy, what you have to work on is the stencil. If you are planning of making stencil graffiti of several colors, you will need to work on several stencils for each of the color you are going to use.

The next style is the wild style. This form of graffiti will require a lot of work and skills. It is complicated compared to others and is extremely stylized. Furthermore, it is hard to read to the untrained eye because of the complex designs. This style features a lot of curves, arrows, spikes and many other elements. Most often in this kind style, letters are in 3D. This one of the most complicated graffiti

so it may take a while before you can make one that looks really good. You can try practicing with a pen and paper first at home. You will also need to have a copy you can look into when you are already making the wildstyle graffiti on the street to prevent errors.

The next is a piece, which is much the same as the painting. The name is short for a masterpiece. This style will require a lot of time and has the 3D effect. Creating a piece will require much time than any other styles of graffiti is not limited to names and letters. A piece is usually a picture of something much like a cartoon art only they look much cooler.
